OK guys here is the challenge for you and the east west battle. Take a shot that #1 is not the same as someone else and #2 is somewhere that no one else would know. The battle for East/ West North South or what ever is nice but seeing the same shot with a slightly different train should not "win" this contest......

I've certainly been inspired by many of the other guys here who've had the privilege of shooting/living up here for longer than I have.

That said, I think these shots are from angles that I hadn't seen before:









I think X-Ray and the other guys have more unique angles.

Asides from finding a spot for wedge shots with trees behind them, I'm guessing it'd be damn near impossible to find a shot where you couldn't loosely identify the location.

It is true that it is hard to shoot in the Twin Cities without giving away a location. The truth is that the bluffs and the area around them have been over done. Great to see trains but I will never shoot there. Nothing there that I can not look up on RR archives or even web shots to see. The West side does not impress me either because of how busy the shots are. In my opinion I would have to say you need to get away from the down town areas to get the “money” shots. Just one man opinion.
