The last 13 cars of this UP coal train derailed about 6:00AM. The train was heading for the NSP coal plant in Bayport, MN coming off of the BNSF Midway Sub and onto the UP Altoona Sub.
Front end loaders and bobcats begin the cleanup of spilled coal.
This car is ready to be dumped upside down and hauled away by the machine you see in the foreground.
The shovel pulls the car half way over.
And finally all the way over.
Two machines lift the car off the ground
It is moved away from the track area.
This process continues until all 13 cars are lying upside down away from the main track.
The front end loaders, shovels, and bobcats continue to move coal off to the side.
The track crew is in, replacing the entire section of damaged rail.
Slightly more than 24 hours after the accident, the first train rolls through at a much reduced speed.
